Our Space
Welcome to Garage Gallery, a space for socially conscious contemporary art in Walthamstow. We founded the gallery in 2022, converting the old garage below our house into something useful.
Garage is self-contained, but it is technically part of our private house, so we monitor numbers of attendees carefully and require advance booking for Private Views and some other events. All our shows are free to attend, and we operate on a not-for-profit basis; artists and curators can use our space without any rental charge.
"The space is small but full of light. It is beautifully presented and maintained, lending itself to all sorts of work - from tiny drawings to large installations." - Julia Miranda (artist, part of 'Heads or Tails')
More about us
We generally host shows for three to four days over a weekend, from Thursday or Friday to Sunday, daytimes, with a private view one evening (usually Friday) until 9pm. We are family friendly and make everyone welcome.
Please join our mailing list and/or follow us on social media to keep informed about future shows.
If you are an artist or a curator, or have an idea for an exhibition or interesting happening in the space, then go to our Work with Us page - or, just get in touch by email in the first instance to talk about an initial idea or arrange to come and see the space. We really want to work with a wide variety of artists and we're always interested in talking about new ideas.
All contact details are at the bottom of this page.
