Open House festival 12 - 20 September

Laura Villares House curates a group show bringing together 17 women artists who create alongside, with, about and around motherhood. Works will explore questions about becoming/ being/ not being/ or losing a mother, and the artists’ responses to these experiences. Mothering is in itself a creative act; the exhibition also aims to offer insights into a range of ways that women maintain or develop their creative practice inspired by and along with family life.

As well as visiting the show you can join us for a Mending Workshop, 'Always a Mum' - a creative workshop for bereaved mothers - and two Family Workshops.

Featured artists are: Abigail Brown, Bernadette Clarkson, Chiron Cole, Tiffany Day, Anum Farooq, Laura Villares House, Helen Jury, Kazvare, Laura Martinez, Katie Miller, Marian Obando, Bronwyn Opland, Sophia Platts-Palmer, Jane L Ralston, Ashley Simpkins, Inbar Tamari, BC Taylor.

See below for images of three of the artists' work: Bronwyn Opland (whose work also features on the poster), Abigail Brown and Laura Villares House.
